India’s health ministry has recommended making body oils out of natural ingredients to boost their quality and help people recover from a heart attack or stroke.
In a document submitted to the Health Ministry, it said that making body oil out of ingredients that are beneficial to health can help people cope with the impact of the virus.
Health ministry official Subhash Dhanakari said that this is a matter for the manufacturers.
“We are making it mandatory for the manufacture of natural oils, like palm oil, that are safe for people to use,” he said.
Dhanakar said the government had been discussing with manufacturers the issue of ensuring that there is a safe supply of natural body oils in the country.
According to the document, the Indian government has decided to promote and implement measures to make the natural oils safe and effective for use.
It said the Indian National Institute of Tropical Medicine has been working with the WHO on a project on natural body oil formulations and testing and development of safe products for use in health care facilities.
India has recorded more than 2,000 cases of coronavirus, a total of almost 4,000 deaths, according to the World Health Organization (WHO).
